Solid Timber & Furniture Care

At Beau Interiors, we work with premium solid hardwood selected for its quality, strength and natural beauty.

Timber is a natural material, which means every piece is unique. Variations in grain, colour, knots, mineral markings and other natural characteristics are part of the beauty and authenticity of genuine timber.

Natural Timber Movement

Solid timber naturally responds to changes in temperature and humidity.

Throughout the seasons, timber may expand or contract and can develop minor movement, fine surface checks or small changes around joints.

These are normal characteristics of solid timber and do not necessarily affect the strength, quality or structural integrity of your furniture.

Our furniture is designed and constructed to accommodate the natural movement of timber wherever practical, using appropriate traditional joinery and quality connection systems.

Variations Between Pieces

As every Beau Interiors piece is individually made from natural materials, slight variations in dimensions, timber grain, colour and finish should be expected.

No two pieces will ever be exactly alike.

These natural differences are part of what makes handcrafted solid timber furniture unique.

Caring for Your Furniture

Regular, considered care will help your Beau Interiors furniture maintain its appearance and perform as intended for years to come.

To help protect your furniture:

  • Avoid excessive moisture and extreme heat.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight where possible.
  • Avoid positioning solid timber furniture directly beside fireplaces, heaters or air-conditioning outlets.
  • Clean spills promptly.
  • Use cleaning and care products suitable for the specific timber and finish.
  • Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaning products.
  • Follow any specific care instructions supplied with your furniture.

Natural timber variation and normal seasonal movement are not generally considered manufacturing defects.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights or remedies you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable New Zealand consumer law.
